Reston Herndon Youth Wrestling is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to growing the oldest sport in the world in our corner of Northern Virginia, for wrestlers, parents, and the community.
We welcome wrestlers from kindergarten through 8th grade, of every ability and every starting point. We meet each wrestler at their current level and help them climb to the next.
Along the way we want every kid to learn that practice pays off, that determination is a strength, and that hard work can still be fun. We build wrestlers, not just wrestling: the habits learned on the mat carry into school and life.
An encouraging room, with the discipline it takes to succeed. Winning is fun too, so we teach what it takes to win.
Practices are tailored to each wrestler’s style, strengths, and needs, taught by doing, seeing, hearing, and teaching others.
We challenge wrestlers physically and mentally so they learn to push past their comfort zone.
We educate parents too. A knowledgeable family makes a smarter wrestler and a better community.
Every Rhinos coach is a volunteer, background-checked and SafeSport trained, and certified through USA Wrestling.

Our colors bring the two communities together: black for Herndon and blue for Reston, connected to the colors of our local high schools.
RHYW is chartered as a 501(c)(3) to teach youth wrestling through practices, clinics, and league competition, and to promote sportsmanship, good health, and good character.

USA Wrestling is the national governing body for the sport. As a chartered club, every Rhinos wrestler is a USAW member with insurance, and every coach is certified and trained in SafeSport.
SafeSport training, built by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic movement, teaches adults to recognize, prevent, and respond to misconduct, so every athlete feels safe on the mat.
Registration includes USA Wrestling membership and insurance, a Rhinos T-shirt, all practices, and the Mason Dixon League regular season. Financial assistance is available. Just ask.
